  • Essay / Arguments Against Utilitarianism - 1444

I will begin by examining the first claim that the consequential nature of utilitarianism is inappropriate. According to this argument, actions are judged based on the resulting consequences for the individual who took them, without considering who motivated them. I will say that this statement is false. This is because if actions are morally right, they will also produce the best consequences compared to any other action. In my opinion, utilitarianism is effective in shaping the behavioral character of society because maximizing good actions as well as minimizing bad actions is essential.
