    This year, medical school applications increased 6.1 percent to more than 48,000, breaking records set in 1996 (Lopatto ). Job openings for doctors and nurses have piqued the interest of the younger generation, and this, I believe, is due to the exciting and captivating experiences that result from these fields. The article “The Central Line” by Atul Gawande provides an example of what these future surgeons and doctors learn in the field. However, the student will not succeed perfectly the first time. Of course, the techniques for using tools and how to perform procedures take practice and time to perfect, as Gawande's writings show. Repetition and practice are necessary to excel at any skill or act. In his article, Gawnde motivates his readers using his credibility and emotional appeals to the learning sidewalk. In the article, Gawande shares a story from the time he worked in a hospital as a resident. His first real procedure, placing a central catheter into a sturdy man's heart to receive food, would cause few problems if performed by experienced hands. However, knowing that this was his first operation performed alone, Gawande's nervousness grew with every thought of what could go wrong. Before beginning, the author remembers having studied all the precise movements and cuts his superior named S. carried out beforehand on the same type of procedure on a person. After feeling informed and confident, Gawande begins by gathering all the tools needed for the job. But just when he thought he was finished, S. reminded him of the many things he hadn't forgotten to enter or configure. He discarded the errors with trepidation and began by locating the point on man... middle of paper ... he really feels that even the best things require patience and work, and the Readers follow this advice. to apply to their own lives. Although it can be difficult to look deep within yourself for the strength to overcome difficulties, Gawnade proves himself worthy, with his language, to give someone a boost of confidence. Over the years, he has built his resume and exceeds expectations as he climbs the ranks in the medical field, giving his knowledge and background information great validity. To his intelligence, he adds emotions to seduce his audience and hope for the best in their efforts, giving them advice to practice to improve.
