“Prince Among Slaves” is a powerful monograph with wonderful writing and an interesting book to read for any age. This is a great monograph of an African prince who eventually became a balm in America in the late 1700s. Although it is good and interesting to read by the author of this book, Alford evokes his readers in order to occupy the public in its marvelous wiring. He was born in 1762, in Africa lived his first 26 years in the kingdom. from Futa Jallon in West Africa, he served as a military commander in his father's army. His full name was Abdul Rahman Ibrahima Sori and he was the son of the king. He did his university studies in Timbuktu. He also became a warrior in his father's army. When he was seventeen, Abdul Rahman returned to Timbo and joined the army. He became a successful commander within a few years. He was a royal prince in Africa. At that time he met for the first time an American called John CoatesCox, he was an Irish surgeon and Ibrahima found him sick and saw that he was being bitten by so many ants. brought Cox home for treatment. Ibrahima brought him to Sori. Ibrahima took really good care of him and within a few months he was healthy and back in shape. And after thanking Ibrahima and his father Sori, Cox returned to Ireland. Around this time of the period, Abdul Ibrahima also had a son. After three months, he left Timbo as commander. Ibrahima and 160 other men marched across the river. They began the long journey down to the Gambia River and across the Atlantic Ocean. All was well when, in 1788, he felt depressed when he was defeated in battle by a rival tribe and was unfortunately sold as a sla...... middle of paper ......, gave him a Bible in Arabic and asked him to write the Our Father in Arabic. In this book, everything is so well defined that you can imagine your life there and see Ibrahima fighting for her freedom. This book is wonderful, the only thing is that it is a little difficult to understand because of the vocabulary used. But overall, it's a great book. Students should read this book and understand how hard and harsh slavery can be. How difficult it is to live in this situation. In conclusion, this book is amazing and I would love to reread these types of stories because it makes the material more interesting to read. It's also fun to read. Alford, the author of this book, has gone to great and extraordinary lengths to make this book more readable, especially for students. Overall this monograph is interesting and everyone should read it once, it's great.
