Essay / Developing a Love for Reading - 853
The beginning of my interest in reading goes way back, although I don't have any "aha!" ยป defining. moment, when I suddenly loved reading books. There were always books when I was little, if I was at my grandparents' house, they were the books they kept from their youth; classics like Treasure Island or any Hemingway book, with hard covers permanently impregnated with dust; many history books, especially the history of the Second World War; and the children's books that I always received as gifts during my visits. My mother also read a lot, but more modern books, like supernatural or light horror books, nothing too difficult (or scary). I spent a lot of time reading magazines, mostly about video games (note: I spent more time creating stories from video game articles and stories than actually playing the games; Also remember to create stories from several video games) and logs, especially baseball scores. I was always drawn to creative things as a kid (note: baseball simulation tournaments). There were notebooks filled with drawings and stories that I created, inspired by the stories I picked up from everything I could read. fake descriptions of films, satires (or what would pass for them when you're under ten) of things popular at the time, I even tried to write a fake radio show with my friends using a recorded cassette and cards instead of cue cards. Basically anything that I could use as a launching pad for creativity or inspiration, be it movies, books, any form of art. As I got older, I started playing guitar and learned composition and music theory, which lends itself well to reading and writing, as there is a lot to learn and express. Without reading I could never have learned guitar the way I did, because there...... middle of paper ...... could be represented and interpreted based on previous experience , it was similar to how one would approach any written work. After working in business for a few years, I finally had the freedom to read whatever I wanted in my free time, but as I ventured into more and more difficult works, I discovered that the ideas I wanted to express were not This is not easy to contain in the form of a simple essay. I discovered that I wanted to share this with others and learn how to improve my own writing, while also bringing these different ideas to others. Initially, I came back to school to study more research-oriented, specializing in science or mathematics. After retaking English Composition 122 at CLC, where we covered science fiction as well as classics and other forms such as memoirs, I began to realize that my passion for reading and writing could benefit others as well as myself..
