Sexually transmitted diseasesSexually transmitted diseases are an integral part of many people's lives. These diseases, one could say, represent a conflict between man and nature. It is a part of nature that humans are inclined to engage in sexual activity. However, humans are putting themselves in danger with the spread of these diseases. Additionally, a human-caused disease can take a life of its own, so to speak, and even become fatal when nature takes its course. Humans have created antibiotics and other medications to cure illnesses and alleviate the symptoms of those illnesses, but the complications that can arise from them are sometimes incurable, and that's when nature takes over. Sexually transmitted diseases are part of history. Some have been around since the beginning of the United States. During eras like the Industrial Revolution, the Depression, and World War I, sexually transmitted diseases increased due to the living conditions of cities and areas where citizens lived. Sexually transmitted diseases, including STDs, are a growing concern among people of all ages. Some are less serious and less dangerous than others, but none of them should be taken lightly. Some of the most common diseases are acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), caused by the HIV virus; Chlamydia, gonorrhea, herpes simplex and syphilis.
