Crime exists in various forms including murder, rape, kidnapping, drug trafficking, prostitution, sexual harassment and many more. Daily newspapers and news channels inform us about the different crimes committed around the world. This makes us wonder if crimes are inseparable from our daily lives. With the passing days and rapid urbanization, crime rates are increasing. Advances in technology also contribute to increasing crime rates. India is one of the countries in the world with very high crime rates. It ranks tenth among the countries with the highest crime rate. Last year, 1,64,630 crimes were reported in India. But do you think this is the real number? Many crimes in India go unreported. Some of the reasons are fear of indulging in legal activities for long, financial situation, fear of ignominy and many more. Some of the common crimes committed in India are rape, murder, dowry, child marriage, female infanticide, prostitution, gang rape, black marketeering, kidnapping and many more.
