In the short story "Galatea", Margaret Mary Bell meets William Bell while she is in a playground with her sister. Margaret and William end up getting together and getting married quite quickly. Suddenly, Margaret's things disappear one by one and she doesn't understand why William is doing this. William eventually leaves Margaret and leaves her with nothing and no reason why he took things from her or himself. She eventually discovers that William is the Collegetown Creeper. Margaret definitely made an impact on me after reading “Galatea”. There were certain characteristics of her that I liked, and others that I found a little ridiculous. Margaret is a good girl who wants to find love and be loved but she doesn't really know what love is. “I wondered if it was love, this constant pleading, this rush to reassure.” (43) In this quote it clearly shows that she has never been in love before.
