I was surprised to identify that my local church's practices follow models two, four, five and six of the missional church concept. The second pattern is observed when the congregation meets on Sunday morning and Tuesday evening for Bible study. Currently, the Church is studying “el character du christian,” the character of the Christian. Additionally, pattern four, which involves how Christians behave toward each other, is also visible in my church. Model four drew me to my congregation. As a visitor, I was able to observe how church members treated each other and their visitors with care, love and hospitality. Additionally, the church has come together several times to help cover funeral costs, housekeeping for people recovering from surgery, and financial assistance when work is interrupted.
