Is cancer the enemy?When you think of cancer, the words terminal illness and death probably come to mind. However, even though cancer is a terminal illness, it can change a person's life and outlook. In the book The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, the protagonist suffers from lung cancer. In a mental and emotional journey, she learns what true love is. Love is what keeps her alive even in difficult times and helps her live a normal life. With love she is able to face life without Augustus, with love she is able to live life to the fullest, and with love she is able to stop worrying about being a grenade and to be able to break down walls to let in people who care deeply about her. Hazel is a child with cancer that is a grenade. That is, she wants to love and be loved, but she doesn't want to affect a lot of people when she explodes or dies. Therefore, she builds walls around her castle and does not allow anyone to enter. That is, until she met Augustus Waters, who taught her that even though she has cancer, she can still live like a normal child, she can still watch popular TV shows and movies , and she can still go out with friends and go shopping. . She doesn't have to sit at home depressed and wishing she could die just because she has cancer. Cancer is not the enemy that wants to blow up our lives, it is an ally that wants to shape our lives, shape who we are, and shape our outlook on life in exchange for a life lived to the fullest.
