When she saw this, she realized that she couldn't do it anymore because she couldn't even help this old man. Linda also had difficulty getting up in the morning and argued all the time with her husband and children for no reason and because of all this she wished she was dead. She was so determined that death would be the best option for her because she had nothing to live for. So one night she drank brandy and took pills to try to kill herself, then woke up in the hospital a day later, furious that she wasn't dead. Linda shows all the signs of mental illness (Real Stories, 2017). She's just stressed, emotionally and physically exhausted, and would rather be dead than alive.
