    Catholic Social Justice The themes of global solidarity, an option for the poor and vulnerable, and a constructive role for government could be used to address the problems of disunity, failed accountability of the poor and local government corruption which arose in the musical Witness Uganda. Global solidarity is an important aspect of social life because it teaches us to understand the unity and wholeness that we possess as a human race. We are all one people, despite our many racial, economic, national, ideological and religious differences. Despite our location or home in the world, we are connected and are each other's guardians and protectors, and in the musical Witness Uganda, Griffin and the orphans learn this key lesson. At first, the African orphans in the music view all Westerners as white, rich and privileged and Griffin understands that most Africans are poor, in need of Western help and ignorant of the world. After living together in Uganda for a while, Griffin and the orphans realize how similar they are as a human race and how united they are....
