Essay / Analysis of The Fine Art Of Baloney Detection by Carl Sagan
This tool is useful because it quickly eliminates overly complicated explanations and answers, but this is not always true, so it is best to pair it with other tools to validate that an answer is correct. An example of Occam's Razor shows you are sitting at a red light and you hear screaming and a loud crashing noise. Several hypotheses can be formulated as to the cause of the noises, for example that a car driving too fast was unable to stop and crashed into other cars, causing an accident, or that someone deliberately caused a situation in which the car would need to brake suddenly, causing it to crash. in other cars and cause an accident in order to make an insurance claim. Of the two previous hypotheses, the statement that the car was going too fast and could not stop is the simpler of the two and, according to Occam's Razor, is most likely correct because it is simpler to explain than the second hypothesis requiring insurance.
