Overview and Analysis of the Napoleonic Wars Europe has a long history of conflict. Before the Napoleonic Wars which took place between 1799 and 1815, there were other conflicts in the 18th century, such as the Great Northern War, the Seven Years' War, the Pugachev Rebellion, and the French Revolutionary Wars . Under the leadership of Napoleon Bonaparte, France quickly fought many European nations to repeatedly defeat the armies of Austria, Prussia, and Russia in the series of conflicts of the Napoleonic Wars. The War of the First Coalition, which began in 1793 and ended a few years before Napoleon took power, challenged all European nations and some nations of Egypt, America and South America. The first campaign of the Napoleonic Wars was the War of the Second Coalition. This coalition of the European nations of Russia, Great Britain, Austria, Portugal and the Ottoman Empire was formed against the French, the nation of Napoleon, in 1798. The nations n were not successful because they did not share the same goals and at that time in history, the countries were not determined to take power over France. Napoleon was very enthusiastic about launching this expedition, as he was already involved in the East and also despised Britain. Bonaparte then shows him that he was not part of the war in Egypt because he was fighting the British. The Russians were under the authority of General Alexander Suvorov and the fighting took place mainly in northern Italy and Switzerland. General Alexander Suvorov got off to a good start by repairing some of the damage caused by Napoleon in Italy. Napoleon was so powerful that his French nation ultimately defeated the Russians. In 1800, he defeated Austria...... middle of paper ......in France. Laws around the world were affected by the Napoleonic Code.
