As diversity in the classroom increases, there is always tension between students, which reflects on teachers. Educating students from different cultures puts the teacher in a position where it is essential to find ways to make the classroom safe and eliminate all the stereotypes that students face on a daily basis. Teachers must recognize and overcome these stereotypes among students, “examining their own role in perpetuating institutional racism” (Kendall, 1996, p. 4). Once successful, with the result of a harmonized classroom, the teacher and students will explore a new space full of fun activities and learning.
