My ancestor report is for Mary Goble. She was born on June 2, 1843, her parents were William and Harriet Goble. Mary was not from the United States, she was from England. She was a Mormon and had been baptized at the age of twelve. This essay tells how she got here, her living conditions and what I think of them. Mary was born in Brighton, Sussex, England. Mary was baptized on November 5, 1845. In the following March and April, the Church began talking about going to the United States and living in Utah. On May 19, 1856, the Mormons left for Utah. They had to make sure they took everything they needed and they knew it would be difficult. She crossed the ocean on a boat and there must have been about nine hundred people on board. After a few days of traveling, Mary had a large shark that continued to follow the boat. One day, one of the saints was caught and then buried at sea.
