An amazing drug has slowly begun to be recognized by many for its amazing healing qualities. This medication is inexpensive to manufacture, has virtually no side effects, and can help treat hundreds of medical conditions, including multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), AIDS, chronic migraines, Alzheimer's disease. Alzheimer's, arthritis, obsessive-compulsive disorders, post-traumatic disorders. stress disorder, cerebral palsy, seizures, hepatitis and almost all forms of cancer, just to name a few. This amazing drug has only one thing stopping it from helping millions of people suffering from all types of illnesses: its use is illegal. That's right, the drug that could help millions of people suffering from so many diverse illnesses is illegal in more than half of the United States and is completely illegal under US federal law. How is this possible? How can a drug that can help so many people be illegal? The reason is that this miracle drug is medical marijuana. Although some people may argue that medical marijuana is not supported by the medical community and its use can cause many different side effects, it should be legalized because it has been used for medical purposes for thousands of years, has many benefits proven by medical trials and can be used to relieve the effects of many different conditions. Very few hot topics in this world generate as much debate as the legalization of medical marijuana. Recent polls split the country down the middle, with 50 percent of people favoring the legalization of medical marijuana and 50 percent of people opposing it (Caulkins, Hawken, Kilmer, & Kleiman, 2012).
