    The executive branch has many implied powers such as executive order, executive privilege and executive consent. An example would be how President Obama used an executive order on immigration when Congress refused to pass an immigration law. Barack Obama issued an executive order allowing 5 million undocumented immigrants to live in America. Additionally, presidents have the power of executive privilege that allows them to withhold certain information from Congress and the judiciary. . The first use of executive privilege was in 1792, when Congress requested information from the Washington administration about a failed American military expedition. Congress specifically requested White House records and testimony from presidential staff familiar with the event. Washington convened his cabinet to discuss whether a president possessed the power to withhold information from people.
