It is quite common to find references to motivation in our personal and professional lives simply because it is perhaps impossible to ignore the role of motivation in human affairs; thus, its importance as one of the main factors impacting learning in the EFL classroom cannot be neglected either (Dornyei, 2001). When talking about motivation, people usually think of a classroom with a teacher and a group of students, and the class is enlivened by different lesson plans, activities, etc. to keep students motivated for language learning. Motivation in the literature offers quite a few definitions. Brown (2007b) argues that motivation is a set of different choices people make about their goals and the efforts they make to achieve those goals.
