AaryanEssay on ImpressionismA small group of Parisian artists consisting of Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Alfred Sisley, Frédéric Basil, Camille Pissarro, Paul Cézanne and Armand Guillaumin believed that realism did not allow them to express their emotions and personality due to the lack of bright colors and appearance of details. So they created a new art form, Impressionism, and have since revolutionized the world with their vivid colors and rapid brushstrokes. “Since the appearance of Impressionism, official salons, formerly brown, have become blue, green and red” said Claude Monet, famous impressionist. Realism is an art form that depicts exactly what a person sees with their eyes, it uses a lot of small details unlike impressionism, an art form that depicts the artist's personal emotions. Impressionist painters use rapid brushstrokes and bright colors to create their paintings. The Impressionists were more concerned with the light and color in their paintings and wanted to depict the correct light. They were never bothered by symmetry and sometimes used abnormal angles for their paintings because some people think that is how the Impressionists saw the world. People infer that the Impressionists saw the world as a more colorful, imperfect, but more beautiful place, as shown in Claude Monet's 1899 painting Water Lilies and Vincent Van Gogh's Japanese Bridge or Starry Night from 1889. Some People did not accept impressionism for a while because realism, the art of painting everything perfectly or accurately, was the preferred art at the time.
