Language is an unimportant part of life. When we communicate with other people, it not only allows us to understand each other, but it facilitates relationship building and allows us to communicate our problems, ideas, plans or anything that concerns our daily life. Language is an essential element of daily life. One of the questions we ask ourselves as humans is how did we learn to speak and how do we know what to say and when to say certain things. Acquiring and using language is an amazing ability that we possess as individuals. There is a significant contrast between language acquisition and language learning. Children acquire language through a most intimate process in which they are unconscious of grammar. This is similar to how they acquire their native language. They have an idea of what is correct and what is not. To acquire a language, the learner needs a natural source of communication. The emphasis is on the text of the communication and not on the form. Young students who are learning English benefit from lots of practice. They willingly acquire the language to communicate with their classmates. Learning a language is not a way to communicate with others. It is the result of explicit teaching of the rules of language. And it’s definitely not an age-appropriate activity for your young learners. In language learning, students have conscious knowledge of the new language and can speak about it. They can fill in gaps in grammar work, but knowing grammar rules does not necessarily translate into good speaking or writing.
