Nurses play a very important role in our lives. They are there when we are born; we die; and whenever we need it in between. I don't see why they are still paid as much as those who have less important jobs. For example, some footballers are paid almost £300,000 a week. This means that footballers are paid more per day than nurses over an entire year - in my opinion this is absolutely ridiculous. I personally think that if the Government were a little wiser with their money they could perhaps give nurses a maximum salary of just over £35,000 a year. For example, the government wastes £1.2 billion a year on welfare fraud and £300 million on tax fraud. This represents a total of £1.5 billion wasted, and this figure is increasing every year. If the government didn't make it so easy to access benefits, nurses could actually get the amount of money they deserve, rather than stealing money they don't need and don't not deserve. Minimizing benefits fraud could potentially increase nurses' salaries by a substantial amount. Many nurses work voluntarily....
